Virtual internships is thrilled to introduce 3 new and exclusive digital badges to provide our participants with recognition of their learning and achievements during their internship program!
We are committed to fostering a community of global career-ready graduates with tangible skill sets and international competencies. To this end, we’ve intentionally designed our program to be engaging whilst also providing wrap-around employability support.
Encouraging participants to articulate their experience is a fundamental part of our program and led us to introduce these digital badges! These three badges (‘Global Employability’, ‘Program Participant’, and ‘Program Alumni’) will enable interns to more readily showcase their accomplishments across online networking platforms such as LinkedIn.
As participants progress through the program, we will award the following badges:
Program Participant
Applicants will receive this badge when they are officially confirmed as a participant on our Virtual Internships program. By joining our network of over 1,200 virtual interns and alumni around the world, the participant is starting down their path to professional development, career skills, and global networking!
We encourage participants to share this “Program Participant” badge on their networking and social media pages. This badge signifies the intern’s initiative to join a truly global remote work experience. Once the intern is fully confirmed with their host company, they can begin to prepare themselves for their remote internship.
Global Employability
Participants will receive this badge when they complete our proprietary online internship curriculum: CareerBridge.
Participants will engage with a series of professional development courses designed to prepare them for their future careers. The CareerBridge courses have been designed around the eight career readiness competencies, developed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE):
- Critical Thinking/Problem Solving
- Oral/Written Communications
- Teamwork/Collaboration
- Digital Technology
- Leadership
- Professionalism/Work Ethic
- Career Management
- Global/Intercultural Fluency
Our feedback shows that through CareerBridge, interns improve awareness of these important skills and are better able to articulate them and refer to them using the context of their specific industry of interest.
Program Alumni
Participants receive this badge once they’ve completed all aspects of the Virtual Internships Program. That means:
- Completed a remote project-based internship within their chosen Career Field with a vetted and supported global host company, building remote work skills
- Completed our award-winning online curriculum, CareerBridge, based on the 8 NACE Career Readiness Competencies
- Attended our fortnightly Global Employability Expert Webinars
- Engaged in two coaching calls for increased goal setting and career management
We are thrilled to unveil these exclusive program badges, and look forward to sharing them with our very deserving interns!
